Practice your Tango with us at St Lukes Hall in Reading on Sunday afternoons. It's a perfect opportunity for practicing, with a large dance floor

and teaching support if you need help.

Dates:

Sunday 27th May, Sunday 3rd June

(check our calendar for confirmation)

On most other Sundays St Lukes Hall is reserved for private use by students of Thames Valley Tango; contact us to discuss availability and prices.

Times:

2.00pm to 4.00pm

Price:

£5.00

There's no need to book, just come along with your dance shoes! Everyone is very welcome; beginners and experts, but it's best if you bring a dance partner.

St Lukes Hall is a charming venue with a large dance floor and lots of space for everyone.

Music selection

At the Reading Practicas we play mainly a selection of traditional Tango music. We also play milonga and vals regularly.

What's the difference between practice afternoons and dance nights?

Practice time should not be confused with dance nights (Milongas)!

Milongas are for enjoyable dances with our partners. We don't criticise each other at Milongas or give unsolicited advice, or give feedback if it is anything other than positive. At Milongas we concentrate on our connection with our partner and the music. We don't work on improving a new move that we learnt yesterday!

Practice afternoons are for developing your Tango, and so it is common to repeat and develop just one movement or idea, and stop and ask for your partner's feedback (a serious faux pas in a milonga). It is advisable to choose a partner who is willing to practice steps with you and confirm with them that you are practicing, not just dancing.
